ALthough he's been injured, one gets the feeling he will not be picked up bcos of the dispute between Carboni & QSF.I hope they get there dispute sorted out as it will be a waste of 10ME.Also Tavano isn't a bad player & since we only have 2 real strikers & we are playing in multiple competetions,it would good to rotate them with him.

Can anyone confirm what he said was true or was he misquoted?

Oh I have the same question.. He was said injured but he himself is now complaining with the club since he had no chance to entry any game till now. I was waiting all the time for his performance and I believe he can beat Roma. Is it related with the dispute between Quique and Carboni?

Yes, I think Tavano is in the middle of the fight between Quique and Carboni. He's just a player Quique has not asked for.

Tavano wants return to Italy

Eurosport - Valencia striker Francesco Tavano wants a return to Serie A as his frustration at not being given the opportunity to play in Spain mounts.

The hitman - so prolific in Italy last year - has struggled to settle on the east coast of Spain and has not yet been given the chance to prove himself on the pitch to coach Quique Sanchez.

"I feel I have wasted all that I had achieved up until now," said the former Empoli man.

"I feel I am not considered here – even when I was feeling well and training hard I was never called up.

"Stefano Fiore was right, there is a prejudice against Italian players. I feel totally useless.

"I have asked my agent to come to Spain to discuss this problem, I can no longer stand this situation."

Without Tavano, Valencia have fared well so far this season, and remain unbeaten in all competitions in the run up to Wednesday's Champions League clash with Roma.

But today, Tavano says he is happy here in Valencia, and that he has been misquoted. He says that everything is a story made by the Italian newspapers. He is only sad because he is injured and he wants to play as soon as possible. Concerning the prejudice against Italian players, he points to Moretti and Carboni.

I hope Tavano will play soon, to see what he can do for the team. Besides of it, Morientes and Villa will be able to rest, too.

Yes, I feel the same way, but if I had to contemplate between giving Tavano a game and giving Silva a game I'd choose Silva everytime. I think we need to aid his developement at any oportunity given although it is obvious that we if Quiqie can get his shit sorted tavano should be getting atleast a few minutes. I hope that we can get Tavano involved because he seems a very technical player and should be able to do well; but if we don't give him any time we may have just thrown 10m away. I feel sorry for the guy.

Its a difficult choice but I really want Silva to get more games and play more agianst weaker opositiona and not only big games so he can play at his best and his confidence can grow. I'll go as far as saying that he can do what Aimar did but more effectivly. We have so many options its difficult to choose.

I think Silva and Tavano are different kind of players, they can even play together (althought I haven't seen Tavano XD). Tavano could play for Morientes and Silva play 'as Villa', or 'as Aimar'; they could be compatible players, I think.
I am looking forward too see Tavano playing, to tell Achilipu how bad player he is :?: (I was joking, I think a guy who had scored almost 40 goals in Calcio can't be bad at all).

But, as you say, if TODAY I'd have to choose Silva or Tavano, I'd choose Silva, of course ;)

Yeah, but realistically with a team playing in 3 competitions 3 players that would suite a team playing 2 upfront and Silva and one of Mori/Villa/Tavano is an 4-2-3-1 should all get enough game time. I'm really scared that Villa is going to suffer exhaustion.

(Sorry for my english)
It's said that Tavano was not a player that Quique wanted in the first time, so it's seems that since Quique did not ask for his incorporation into the team and it was more an imposition from carboni he's having his own little vendetta against him through Tavano. Poor Tavano...

Yeah, I know this. This is basically it:

The friction between Quiqie and Carboni that we all know about that was getting out of hand. After Quiqie made sure that Aimar had to be sold(and did other things that Carboni wasn't in favour with) Carboni was pertty pissed off and pretty much said fuck Quiqie I'll do what I want.

The player Quiqie initially wanted was Luis Garcia of Espanyol. And then Oba Martins of Inter, I think he wanted either of those. Quiqie didn't want Tavano at all, but because Carboni's wanted Tavano, Martins wanted to goto the Premiership and Espanyol weren't wanting to sell Luis Garcia(I think he signed a new contract recently.) Carboni just bought Tavano.

Now for doing that Quiqie is fighting back by not playing Tavano(the player that Carboni bought) to try and prove that he has more power and authority in the club. So because of silly, childish games being played between Quiqie and Carboni we are not rotating the squad propery and potentialy ruining Tavano's career. I hope if this doesn't work soon we get him back to Italy in January or next season. Its not fair on him. From what I hear he was inline a big move to a bigger Italain club that year anyway but he chose Valencia instead. Maybe Milan(or anyone else for that matter) will take him next season.

But ideally I'd like him to play matches here and there and actually be a good player for VCF but I don't know if thats going to happen because of Quiqie's stubborness and arrogance in this situation. Tavano needs to play, be it at Valencia or another club. What I don't want to see is him being loaned out for multiple seasons. I won't be happy if we get nothing for him and he leaves on a free transfer when his contract expires in many years.

I agree with you in almost everything, Rafa, but let's wait for Tavano to recover from his injury; then we'll see if Quique makes him play or not.

If not a serious injure, I'm sure he'll be ready for the next league match next weekend. To see whether he's lucky to get chance to take his debut. Though Quique won't do anything to him only if Tavano has to replace anyone is injured.
