Great topic!

The main problem for me is the stupid planning of the season after Carboni left. It's written in the forum, so we can show what we thought at that moment. I don't consider Koeman as bad as Quique was, but I'm sure he wasn't the right one to replace Quique once the season started.

But again, the main problem is the planning. Helguera doesn't have a place in this team. They spent lots of money in not necessary players (fernandes, Arizmendi, Zigic) and they didn't use that money to replace 2 of the most important players in Valencia history that became old:Ayala and Baraja.

It looks like Banega can be the definitive replacement for Baraja, but we are paying too expensive Helguera's presence in the team.

At the time, we had several injuries and players in bad condition after his injuries. Vicente and Edu are just shadows of what they were.

In addition, Valencia looks like the stupidest club in Spain. Villa pretended a penalty against Deportivo in the beginning of the season. From that moment, we played against everybody, referees didn't give any penalty, not even one, for Valencia. It's 10th march and our President didn't complain yet.

I agree, I think the planning hurt this team the most. It seems that Carboni wanted to rebuild whereas Quique just wanted reinforcements for a 4-4-2. I wonder if the season would have been different if Alexis wasn't injured, but that's just speculation on my part. I'm not saying that Alexis = Ayala, it's just that he must be better than Helguera, who hasn't been outright horrendous, it's just that he's been awful some times.

As for Koeman, who knows. Though if this team wants to rebuild in earnest he actually may be the right man for the job. One thing I think he deserves credit for is that he's good at bringing along youngsters. Last year Afellay won the young Dutch player of the year award while Koeman was still at PSV, though maybe there wasn't that much competition. I think Mata, Arizmendi, and Albiol's turn-around must give some credit to Koeman.

What I don't understand is where is the killer instinct? Where is the desire? The hunger to win? I maybe wrong by one or two on the numbers, but I think that Valencia has only come back 4 times to get either a draw or a win if the opposition scores first. That's just too low a number if any team wants to compete for anything. I think when healthy Valencia' starting 11 can compete with anyone, it's just that I think the team lacks confidence in itself to perform. Is this the coaches fault? I'm not certain.

The only thing I can see good with Koeman is that he have given Mata the chance and that's it.
He have done too many dumb things in tactics (same, same, same) and all that stuff.
15 points since he took over isn't not at all close enough. Sevilla have changed coaches and they haven't been worse, just better.

Koeman is even badder in Quique in that sense, I just feel that the critics were just too goddamn soft for him, many people still remembers him as the great defender from the Dream Team but he's not that. I was angry when we appointed him, I saw him as a midstep from Quique, there would be no improvement at all and we have seen that.
Now we can see that we fail big time in psychology and that's what important nowadays, every coach know how to train and that stuff but you must give them something that makes you believe that you're the best and that you can do it.

I don't like firing coaches but Koeman is by far the worst now, we can't keep him. Give Oscar the job the rest of the season and see how he does it...

The horrible planning is undoubtedly the main reason. All the rest is a consequence of this. If I have to say a name this is Soler.

All the changes made this years have led the team in the situation we have. At this moment I think we should keep the actual planning at least for this season and, in my opinion, the next one. Maybe Koeman isn't our man but the moment when he came was not the best time to change the coach. I'd give him some time to rebuild the team.

For me is a nonsense to talk about the quality of players, tactics or Ivan "crap" Helguera if the next season we are going to change the coach twice and to have a new Miguel Angel Ruiz.

The main problem is the bad planning and the lots lots of money spent on bad players.
I am too far away to know, but I'm worried about the financial situation of the club. Lots of money being spent and not so much income with the lack of success in European competitions.

This team needs another manager for sure. Quique is in the past, but Koeman is not good enough. And it also needs some good players that can help in some positions.
However I'm not sure if the people running the club are capable of doing that or they are going to spend millions of Euros without any thought.

If we get Salom be the new president, I guess Koeman can not stay one day longer, Salom doesn't like Koeman

I think the main problem is Koeman. He crushed the cohesion of the team with his strictness and stubborness. Outcasted 3 main players, which must have affected the teams moral seriously. Although I don't like any of the 3 (maybe Cani), I must say that was a bad step.
The players only fight when they play a copa match.
And now he wanna change the half of the team, which makes me scare. He wants to bring players who do what he wants and consider selling icons like Vicente or Joaquin. He can't build a team, his tactics are unvisible, ok now put Villa to the left and Silva to his place. Fantastic. Defense is a mess, which I wouldn't imagened before, cause he was a good defender. I think a good coach could achieve a lot more with class players like we have.
I hope he leaves after we won the copa or at the end of the season.
