Actually, the above is a bit depressing. Has anyone seen 'No Country for Old Men'? Probably one of the Coen Brothers' finest films. How many people does Anton Chigurh kill? 13 or so?

I've seen it, and I think it really deserved the Oscar.

I didn't count how many people he killed, though.

I will probably see it tomorrow! icon_eheh

I usually don't think that the Coen brothers is that special besides The Big Lebowski, otherwise they're quite overrated but well, I think that this movie can be good really, I like Bardem in the trailers :?:

Well, did you like it?

For someone who has seen almost all their films, I don't think the Coens are over-rated. Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, Raising Arizona, and Fargo in addition to Lebowski and No Country are all very good movies.

I don't think Fargo is that great really...
But I liked the movie and it's picture, of course Bardem that is too goddamn excellent as a psycho, that coin-throw scene is really great!

Yeah, I felt sorry for the old gas station attendant. Not everybody is a coldly rational psychopath. It's not a bad thing if people want to live a simple life. One of the cool things about the movie is the very small part played by Stephen Root. He's the guy in the office tower who initially hired Chigurh and then hires Carson/Woody Harrelson. Root was great in Office Space.

Anybody else have some sort of conversation starter?

Anyone a fan of Mike Judge, or let alone know of him? Well, to make a long story short the second movie he made, Idiocracy, wasn't promoted by fox at all and was given a minimal release just so it could be put on dvd. Idiocracy is basically a movie about a future 500 years from know if the united states was populated by morons. It's pretty funny and someone uploaded it onto youtube. If you enter 'idiocracy part 1' at you tube, you'll get the first of 8 parts.

okay, okay, that suggestion went up like a lead balloon.

A few suggestion to kill boredom:

If you have never seen Godard's Alphaville, you should check it out if you like science fiction movies. I think someone once told me that the mark of good science fiction is that it in a way illustrates that the future is already here. Alphaville does that, in spades. On google video:

Like Fritz Lang? Well, his wonderful 'M' is now public domain. Strange to believe that a movie made in the 30s is about a child killer. The last scene is incredible, one of the best in cinema.

Like the Stones, that is in Rolling? Do you Like the song Sympathy for the Devil? Godard did a movie about the stones called 'Sympathy for the Devil' in which he weaves together the recording of the song - it really was a different song initially- with some really weird footage of the BlackPanthers on the interview of some attractive women called Eve Democracy, who merely answers yes or no to questions. It is strange, but it does confirm that Keith Richards is the spiritual epi-centre of coolness when it came to the Stones.
