Not necessarily Valencia related, but it might be of some interest to others to track and discuss what other teams are doing.
I think the La Liga competition for the 4 CL spots will be tight next year. Villareal and Atletico Madrid have both made good acquisitions. Plus, Seville being the UEFA Cup champions should be in the mix if they can keep their squad together. Also, as always, those bums from Real Madrid, once they have concluded their presidential elections, will probably strengthen their squad.
Villareal: Added Nihat, Cani, and Pires. Will they be able to hold on to Riquelme though?
Atletico Madrid: Added Sergio Aguero plus a bunch of other players I'm too lazy to look up.
I'm surprised about Atletico Madrid though. Getting Aguero was a great addition, though I think he may need a year to adjust to La Liga. They say he's a great talent, as he has set the record for youngest player to debut in Argentina, youngest to score a goal etc... Where did they get the money? Aren't they broke? They had Rosicky lined up, but apparently they couldn't get a deposit guarateed in time to secure the signing!
Barcelona: Added Eidur Gudjohnsen (sp?). I'm not so sure this is a good signing. I imagine he's there to replace Larsson. Gudjohnsen's downside is that he is somewhat slow and he can't beat a defender if his life depended on it. He can't dribble for shit! What he can do is make a great pass every now and then, but Barca have better players that can do that. He can still score, somewhat, but not as prolifically as a few years ago.
