Valencia have sacked director of football Javier Subirats.

The Primera outfit took the decision ahead of Wednesday's match at Mallorca - which they lost 2-1 - and are now being tipped to name Amadeo Carboni as his successor.

Valencia president Juan Soler admitted the move had been precipitated by Subirats who had demanded an urgent meeting earlier in the week.

The club did not want to take a definitive decision until the end of the season, but saw their hand forced by discussions at the meeting.

"It's not a situation I like, nor a decision I liked taking," Soler explained.

"With the team currently fighting for second place I did not want to do anything to disturb them.

"If we were going to take a decision I wanted to take it at the end of the season, but things turned out like this because it was Subirats who called the meeting."

Subirats returned to the club to take the position in May of last year and signed a three-year contract.

He could now be replaced by veteran Italian defender Carboni who is set to hang up his boots at the end of the season at the age of 41.

Of courese, I'm happy for Carboni, but I was shocked with Subirats's this decision.
I realloy liked this guy.
As I've heard, if not him, David Villa wouldn't be Che for today.

Yes. I don't really know LLorente.
I don't like the thing, that situation can be chaotic because so many high officials have left their positions.

What do they speak about this in Valencia?
What do these changes lead to?

Is thios strenghtening of Soler family?

I think he is doing all right, if this is the last change. At the moment he is changing everything every year. I hope from now, he is contracting the right people and keeping the confidence in them. In 2 years we had 3 sports director... we need a plan and it looks that soler doesn't have one.

I hope your words are true...
I really like Soler's transfer politics too.
But do you think Carboni is strong enough to be the sports director?

I don't know it.. he has been studing this year for getting that position but i don't really know if this is enough. It will be difficult when he will have to fire or sell some of his collegues.

I'm not against Carboni being sports director, but i would be against an all italian import, like under Ranieri, could possibly lead to chaos.. still unlikely but just some thoughts

Any information regarding the sudden change (Subirats, LLorente)? I thought Subirats was doing a good job bringing in Villa and Miguel most notebly.
This should've been left for the end of the season, just in case it might have some effects on performances on the pitch.

Llorente is like a dark man. Benitez was a gold man for us, but this man tried to do everything to be the main star in the Club and left Benitez to go away.

Bye, bye Mr. Llorente, don't come back again !!!

I f Llorente was so bad guy, it's good that he left, but Subirats is another business.
I would be pleased, if in taking decisions on transfer market, Quique Florez will have more influence.

Don't worry Valensieli, the one person who directs Valencis is president Juan Soler.

Subirats has gone very good players. He bought Villa and Miguel, he can buy good players if has money. Subirats leaves Valencia because Soler asked him to buy players for free like Edu last season. But when Soler wanted to know what operations Subirats had, he said to Soler he didn't have any player to buy for free. Soler didn't like that because this season had good players in those conditions like Nihat, Pires or Poulsen, and finally Villarreal bought Nihat and Pires and Milan bought Poulsen.

If Subirats had worked more, Valencia would have bought Nihat, because Valencia likes this player.

I like Subirats. He got good players for us. Got Villa. What a great buy.

Drakul had a point about Carboni would have difficulty firing & selling his teammates.
Just don't turn us into an all Italian squad, that's all, if he gets the job.

Last gossip states that Macia would actually be the one gathering the scout reports and choosing which players we'll be bidding for, paying heed to Quique. Carboni would only be a smiling face presenting the facts to the media and avoiding the real workers all that media pressure most of them simply can't handle. If that's true I think it'd be a nice way for him to get all that experience he lacks nowadays so in years to come he could really become the strong man in our club management. As he would seemingly get no voice in the actual planning I don't fear Valencia becoming Italian national team B.

I've recently read something about Sevilla's sports director, Monchi, being a candidate for the vacant position. Any news on this?

Nothing reliable at the moment. Some media say he'll stay in Sevilla CF, others that he will go to Almeria (in Second Division) and Almeria's managers are affraid for Valencia's interest in Monchi.

I think Monchi's sign for Valencia would be a great piece of new, but there's no much more about this subject... at least nothing reliable.

Ferran, thanks man!
But is this a proven fact or just rumours?

I'm also interested about the Sntimentche headline about Quiques contract renewal. Its English translation isn't the best, so I couldn't understand a point.

A quick briefing of that thread: it seems that Quique was adamant in his demands. He wanted to earn a bit more than the best paid players in the team. He demanded instant promotion to manager and coach, with the last word in signings, loans and all kind of transfers, and finally asked for Macia and Carboni to be sacked (last one before even signing...) because he childishly doesn't like them.

Soler refused all demands and said he could either sign the contract renewal he was handed last week or go and find himself another team to coach, and it seems that Quique accepted that and will get a two year contract for a € 2.2M grand total and the assumed privilege to state playing positions that need strenghtening and squad members to be sold this summer, with Macia choosing the actual players we could try to sign, Soler bidding for the ones he fancies the most and Carboni smiling to the Media when/if said players finally got into the squad.

Not a single word of the abovesaid is officially sanctioned from the club, obviously. Each and every word should be taken as gossip, but it seems some if not all are indeed true.

Tranquilium, thanks for answer!
This is logical, but not a proven fact yet.

don't like this small range conflictsin the club, they never bring to good results.
