This will be broadcast by goltv, so alas, watchable on the net for those either incapable or unwilling to pay for goltv.
Last season this match was played during Fallas, in which Valencia promptly lost by I think 1-2. Of course, at the time Zigic was a starter for Racing, now, he still probably hasn't gotten used to starting on the bench. Going from a 13 goal striker to a bench denizen isn't easy for anyone. I don't think Zigic is terrible, I just don't think his purchase made much sense, especially for a team that was built on the counter-attack with Quique and now built more around a single forward up front. But what do I know?
I guess it will be an opportunity to watch the coaching wiles of Marcelino. I was impressed with what he did with el Decano last year more so than what he has done with Racing this year. I watched both Copa Del Rey matches when Racing played Getafe, and Racing were clearly the inferior side. Racing just could not cope with Getafe's relentless running. Some rumours suggest that he is the favourite to bark orders from the sideline for Sevilla next season, but then again, they are rumours. I think I'd prefer either Emery or Valverde if Koeman is indeed sent to the Valencia coaching meat grinder at the end of the season. Not sure what the going rate is for Dutch ground beef.
In brief:
-Villa and Vicente are surprise additions to the players listed as possible for tomorrow.
-Joaquin has admitted that Valencia finds it difficult to play in Koeman's 4-3-3 (Then why has it succeeded against Barça in the Copa?)
-Poor Getafe losing that shocker of a match to Bayern. That sending off of De La Red in the 6th minute was bullshit.
edit:
lineup is:
Timo
Caneira Albiol Alexis Moretti
Edu Marchena Baraja
Joaquin Moro Silva
I don't know the exact reason, but why is Banega alienated of late? What has he done wrong? I would have preferred Banega to Baraja.
