David Villa has been officially presented as a player of Valencia C.F. to the media and the supporters, who consider him a new idol. In the act, Valencia C.F.’s chairman, Juan Soler, has sent a message to the supporters: ‘I want to tell the supporters that Villa will be a ‘crack’ of the team, cause he is one of the most important strikers of Europe and he will also surely surpass his goal average in our team. He will find in Valencia the most important aim of his sportive career, and I am sure that he will succeed’. The chairman, together with some members of the Management Board such as Agustin Morera or the Vice-president Vicente Soriano also welcomed Villa to the team.
David Villa wanted to thank first of all his new team for giving him the opportunity to play in a great team, without forgetting his last club, Real Zaragoza. He has also said that he has not ‘set a concrete number of goals, but the work and the great team mates I will have will allow me to surpass my statistics. It is the most important challenge of my sportive career’. He has also defined himself as a player ‘with velocity that assures a great amount of goals’. After his speech, Javier Subirats, the Sportive Manager, talked about Villa: ‘He is a very quick player in attack, with good game and goals. He’s going to be a very important player in the next years’, he concluded.
Once in the football pitch, David Villa shared some moments with his new fans. From Mestalla’s tribune, a lot of supporters applauded and cheered him up. From now on, it is sure that our stadium will be the witness of all the games and goals of David Villa. David, welcome to you new home.
